Guitar Hero 4 drum kit shown
Thanks to the latest issue of Game Informer, and a post on the Destructoid blogs we have got a first look at the drums that will be used in the latest edition of Guitar Hero later this year.
Those of you with eyes will be able to see that the game takes a step up from Rock Band by adding two cymbals to the drum kit, but reduces the amount of drums to three.
It looks very much like DrumMania to us.

So presumably the name will be changed, as Guitar Hero kind of suggests you’re playing a Guitar. There’s quite a bit of difference between a Guitar and a set of Drums!
Also, will this come with an extortionate price tag too? Will we get the game bundled with the new peripherals? I wonder if EA will rethink their Rock Band pricing strategy on the basis of this iteration?

thats freakin awesome. now they’re actually gonna have cymbal time things instead of just pads now. ill probably buy the game by its self and the drums seperatly. also on the game you can change the notes on songs. easy way to get tons of points and point achievements on 360. make a lot of triple notes

Rimmer’s got a point - a shameless copy it may be, but if it’s substantially cheaper than Rock Band it’ll be interesting to see which comes out on top. Especially considering there is NO overlap between the two - you’ll only ever buy one or the other.

I don’t get why everyone thinks this will be cheaper than Rock Band, no way in hell will this be cheaper.

I play drums myself and so can’t wait for this badboy! The cymbals will make it x10 better than the rockband kit!
