Guerilla Games considering party system for Killzone 2 multiplayer

Hooray for Twitter, as it continues to be a great source for loads of interesting morsels of info on many games. This time Guerilla Games have thrown a few scraps to get excited about in regards to Killzone 2.
When questioned about the possibility of setting up a party system for the games multiplayer, to keep groups of people together as the action moves from map to map, the developer responded with good news.
“We’re investigating various possibilities for implementing a party system,” comments the tweet in reply to the rather interesting question.
Fantastic stuff in our opinion, as the lack of a party system is one the the few big problems many continually comment on in regards to the game.

“We’re investigating various possibilities for implementing a party system”
-Maybe Guerilla Games should have thought about that during the 5 years they spent developing this damn game before they released Killzone 2 missing the features that are standard on most others games.
Like…
* A party system
* Split-screen multiplayer
* Co-op modes

Nobody plays splitscreen or co-op games anymore. It’s all about multiplayer so we need a party system.

im realy dissapointed with this i was expecting the first DLC to be realy big theve made us wait long enough.
this game in general is a big dissapointment i mean in the same time it has taken GG to make this game insomniac has made 4 R1 R2 R&C feature tools and R&C quest for booty.
and resistance 2 has 10 times more features than KZ2.
no co-op you cant even play online with 2 players on 1 console how crap is that.
i was expecting alot more since this game was in development for what like 4 years thats a long time and it realy does not show.
besides the single player campaign wich is EXTREMLY short theres nothing to do besides the adverage MP wich gets boring after a while.
as most of the reviews said it does not bring anything new it does not even bring the things that are standard to shooters these days.
like not being able to have 2 players on 1 system thats pathetic most FPS do that so why cant this?

My friend has Killzone 2 and we went to play split-screen at the weekend. After a lengthy game update we finally got into the game before realising it didn’t have this feature. Bit of a step backwards if you ask me, especially when Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 successfully provide this basic mode of play.

Now this comment was made by Jake Rumble. Clearly you know wery well these things so tell me how many games have these “standard” features. Cause i do not recall many games to have all these features in them at all.

actually COD4 and W@W do not have split screen multiplayer..unless your talking about the way they jewed out of it by doing offline split-screen (that said, have fun playing 2v2). Halo 3 is a joke, it might have split screen multiplayer but the game is terrible and graphics are laughable. There is a reason behind the no split-screen on KZ2. The reason is graphics, GG couldn’t have split-screen b/c having 2 screens running on the quality of graphics KZ does, it would of ruined the game. They would of had to make some sacrifices tht they didn’t want to.

This is welcome news. I love KZ2 and think it’s a near perfect title..but the lack of a party system really brings it down..

This is a great game, and the whole clan thing is great.
But they do need a party system as it makes online gaming better when you can actually play alongside your buddy’s.

know what would be perfect besides offline co-op i know that aint gona happen but still i have to try.
besides that coppy across the co-op mode from resistance 2 that is so much fun i would love to do that with killzone 2.
and know how you can sign in with 2 accounts and rank up 2 seperate players in R2 why cant you do that in killzone 2.
seriously its like GG dont want this game to be the BEST online game for ps3.
if they did they would put as many features as they can.
but its basicaly as bare bones as its per decessor

I still can’t believe they didn’t implement a Co-Op or Party system in the final release! Lately, I’ve played most games co-operatively with my mate online. It’s great, we both prefer it as we get the benefits of a good story, plus the online gaming! I’m not bothered about split screen, not many of my mates live locally, so online is much easier.
The party system, or lack of it just shows how little thought went into the online side of things. I’ve lost track how many times my mates and I have tried to join each other for a game only to giove up and move over to something else. Resistance 1 & 2 both have the function, as does Motorstorm! For me, the perfect lobby system has been the likes of Halo2/3 and COD4. I think these should be used as a defacto standard by developers, they’d be onto a winner!

its piss easy to join a friend.
when searching for games hit R1 it changes tabs and shows you all your friends online and you can choose to join there game aslong as its not full.
how much easier do you want?
it cant get much easier than that
