Just before the games official worldwide release the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants has set its sights on Rockstar Games, remarking that the main Eastern European immigrant theme of Grand Theft Auto IV is unfair to immigrants, and paints them in a bad light.

Commenting to The Times a spokesperson for the company reveals that he thinks that scenes displayed in the game could make life hard for real-life immigrants.

The spokesman for the independent national voluntary organisation went on to say: “The figures show that East European immigrants are not proportionately responsible for any increase in crime. This plays on untrue stereotypes.”
