First in-game shots of new Banjo Kazooie shown
Thanks to NeXuSDK over on NeoGAF, the first in-game shots of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts has been shown. As we originally commented the game boasts a much larger focus on vehicles this time round, and even offers the chance to build your own to move about the environment.

Omgomgomg wasn’t even looking forward to this game but it’s looking like a lot of fun, and colourful too.

Microsoft most definitely needed this title.

I’ll approach this with a certain wariness as my trust in Rare has been somewhat shaken but, by god, is that a pretty and fun looking platformer. I busted out Psychonauts again recently because the platforming genre has been so dry over recent years. Mario Galaxy can only go so far, you see.
Sidenote: Am i wrong in thinking Psychonauts is a better game than Mario Galaxy? I know Galaxy has so much innovation and imagination behind it but i nigh on soiled myself playing Psychonauts again and the gameplay is so tight…

Oh, and that definately looks like you can custom build some machines! I’m putting money on industrialisation and global warming being the key theme.

I’d say Mario Galaxy is definitely the better game, but it doesn’t compare to Psychonauts in terms of the writing or characters - not that it was ever meant to, but still.

I’m really not convinced… The art direction looks pretty ugly, and the vehicle creation looks interesting but it’s sure as hell not what I wanted…

Dammit guys its Banjo Kazooie not Ridge Racer!
I loved Kazooie and Tooie, and the fact this isnt called Threeie is the first let down, but what the adventures excelled in was the fact you can go so far through volcanos and plateaus and woods/circus etc, without even having to bother with annoying vehicle travel. It was always just you and the level design, without gimmicks to grab unaware gamers of the prior-greatness.
Darn…
