First glimpse of Modern Warfare 2 shown
Robert Bowling, Community Manager at Infinity Ward, has just posted on his twitter that he is testing out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with a mate of his. The tweet includes a small, but very blurry pic of the game being tested by the members of the IW team. Behold!
Yeah, we can’t really see anything either. But it is still nice to see the game being tested and worked on. Oh, look orange cable!

What saddens me most if these are the developers is that those cheap n nasty screens with bad response rates they are using (samsung) at the same time as developing obviously on the xbox 360 is going to equal a game that looks the same on each platform but obviously constrained to the xbox maximums.

lol its lame to argue over the better system ps3 has blue ray and gives developers a little more freedom then other consols because with blue ray they can put more information on the disks. For best quality they should develop for PS3 first then port it to 360. That way we all get a high-quality version of the game, instead of these half-a$$ed 360 ports of Fallout3 and GTA. Im curious as to how they are doing this on PS3 because ports to PS3 haven’t turned out so good in the past but are certainly getting better.

Wow. I own a 360 and PS3…for some time now since they both launched. I’ll never buy a multi-platform title on PS3 since LIVE and the controller are superior…just the exclusives. Got over 80 360 games, only 9 PS3 games. Will definitely buy this for 360 though when it comes out cuz I PWN hard on CODWAW on 360. I can’t stand the scaling on PS3 though on games as I own Burnout and looks great upscaled to 1080p on my 50″ and tried it at 720p for PS3…hated it. The above poster saying how it looks better on PS3 is on crack and hates his mom.

I own a 360, but I can admit that specs-wise, the P3 is probably SLIGHTLY better. Who gives a flying fck? Specs mean fck all when Sony aren’t making a decent profit. ANd althought the 360 is cheaper, you get RRoD every other wednesday, you get what you pay for… Which brings me onto Live/PSN. You get what you pay for (or rather don’t in PSN’s case)
The PS3 could have trounced all over the 360 with the right marketing, but Sony fcked that up. Nobodies ault but their own as to why the profits aren’t sky rocketing.
Which brings me back to Infinity Ward, when they release MW2 their profits WILL sky rocket, as we all suck onto the new CoD games like a big sucky sponge. Sluuurp. (Except World At War, that has and always will be a bag of shiite. CoD3 also.)

ok guys… I’ve been a gamer since the NES was a luxurious commodity so I decided to interject and highlight the good qualities in both systems to help decide a winner, thats right Im going to focus on the positives of each systems unlike most of you negative motherfuckers. online servers are more stable
PS3:
better graphics
better controller (xbox controllers have always been clunky and uncomfortable to the natural contours of your hands)
FREE online gaming
You dont have to spend a fortune on peripherals
No such thing as a RROD (as a long time gamer the RROD is absolutely disgraceful. who the fuck has ever heard of a console with so many problems?)
Better projected titles for 2009 (xbox has fable 2… what else?… nothing)
More data storage on disks (youll realize how good this is when youre inserting the 7th disc of FF13 on your 360)
A web browser included in online mode
I could go on fella’s but out of all honesty the PS3 takes the cake. I would assume that the people bashing it are butt-hurt cuz they cant afford it or are too stubborn to realize that they purchased the soon-to-be-obsolete system. If I am wrong on any of these things let me know… but I know that all of this is true. I mean seriously, they had to cut out features on GTA 4 to accomodate the 360 cuz it couldnt handle the rendering speed (flying). And Gears of War 2 used 90% of xbox’s potential, KZ2 is using 60% of the PS3’s and it has far superior graphics. That’s all kiddies.

Doesn anyone here with a ps3 think a boxing game using the ps3 controllers like the wii would be awesome. I would love for someone to come up with even a cheap ass looking wii like game for that. I cant believe that they have the tech to do it and wont incorporate things like that. That is the reason the system is not doing that well. The games they have that kick ass they push to the back and try to shovel this other garbage like COD down everyones throat. Warhawk is an awesome game that would do well on both systems and they gave it hardly any press. Stupid asshats. As for the Xbox is better than PS3 argument, please…. I’ve heard this going on since the Commodore / Atari wars back when most of the above pre-pubescents weren’t even an itch in Daddy’s pants. Get over it, and yourselves. If you think that one console is better than another, then fine, keep your opinion to yourselves. I have one of everyone console (of this generation) and I enjoy playing on each equally. Each platform has its pros and cons, yet do I sit here shouting about it? No. Why? Because I don’t care what other people think about it, so why inflict my opinion onto others? You see, this kind of attitude comes with age and a knowledge gained from living in the real world gaining a multitude of experiences from various different places. Give it time, and you too will find it easier to construct sentences that contain real thought behind them.
As for COD6? It’ll no doubt be a lot better than COD5 as history dictates a pattern, Infinity Ward make damn good games no matter what console!

I own all COD on PS3 and veteran mode is done in W@W. I had no issues with gamplay/quality and It was developed on 360/PC.
I still play it everyday as its simply amazing.
Come on guys, you should know I try to word things as to not cause hassles and wars. You really do have to read all words and not just the few that pop out at you. I see it all the time on N4G where people just read the title and assume.

What i seen of Killzone 2 is amazing i agree..
But it could turn out less then it is.
This because i spoke to a friend of mine who played the game for 10 minutes and then he brought it back to the store because it was a crappy game.
Also like i said before… Graphics aint all that.. if the gameplay sucks… the game overall sucks.
So just wait and see if it tops Gears 2 (the game every ps3fanboy wished they could play it on their ps3!!!)

As long as the 360 is the lead platform for any game, the PS3 will always suffer because of the weakness of the 360….just about everyone knows that by now…Killzone 2 has started the change in really separating the PS3 from the 360…it now that developers have to grow a pair of balls and start using the PS3 as the main platform and then trickle it down to the 360. If devs had a more better understanding of how the PS3 works, cost development will not be an issue. Others need to reach out to Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla, even Epic and some divisions of EA and Ubisoft have learned the tricks to the power of the PS3…..don’t be afraid of the big beast..hears looking at you Valve! :0)

What the hell are you talking about??!?! The PS3 has 512 in it….the memory is just in separate banks. Here a quick lesson:
Just so you know, the PS3 has 512MB of RAM (256 for video and 256 for system). The Cell chip has 256MB of completely sharable RAM, the GPU has 256MB of dedicated RAM. Now the key here is what type of RAM it is (pay attention Xbots).
The PlayStation 3 has 256mb of GDDR3 at 700mhz and 256Mb of XDR at 3.2ghz. So what exactly is XDR ram? Here are some of the highlights:
- XDR makes PS3 super efficient
- XDR aids in faster cache mapping, both direct and indirect
- XDR is not just faster than GDDR3 but it is much more efficient
- XDR RAM works by breaking down data into several packets which prevents data loss and exceptions. The Rambus
XDR™ memory architecture is a total memory system solution that achieves an order of magnitude higher performance than today’s standard memories while utilizing the fewest ICs.
More RAM does not mean a faster system it means more data can be stored in a fast access area. Games don’t always need 512mb of RAM in terms of consoles.
The RSX can freely use as much of the 512MB total RAM that the PS3 has because the Cell doesn’t need much RAM because its fast enough. And the fact that the PS3 has XDR means that it has faster access to data files.
So next time do your homework before postin’ non-sense and that’s for the rest of the Xbots with the “PS3 is inferior” crap. I don’t consider myself a fanboy of any console / games machine, but to back up DaEmph with regards to the computational power of the PS3 you only have to look at articles such as this (http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/news/2007/10/ps3_supercomputer) to see that the PS3 has huge potential. I’ve not heard of anyone doing the same with 360’s, they’d probably be used to heat a block of flats!
I know mine certainly warms up the room. lol
As Pleb and someone else has said, if you can only afford one console, enjoy it, just don’t bother slagging off the others! It does nothing but show your ignorance about a subject you evidently know nothing about. While I on the other hand will enjoy playing my PS3 tonight, my X360 on Saturday, and my Wii on Sunday! With some DS and PSP action in between no doubt!

The only reason I’ve considered getting a ps3 is for the blue ray player and so i can play god of war 3 but other then that there’s no reason to buy this system or even any games for it not to mention the skill of the gamers that use the system. The first time i logged on to the PlayStation network and played cod4 it was sad how lacking players were in there ability to play the game.

With all bias and fanboyism aside, the PS3 is overall the better console. Sure the Xbox has more games but they may be because it was released a year before the Ps3. And also, lots of developers are starting to use the Ps3 as a lead developer ( http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/153888/sony-ps3-becoming-lead-console-for-developers/ )
And lots of people say how the Ps3 lost so many exclusives, but the fact is, everything they “lost” only still edned up on the Ps3. But no one says anything about the games the xbox loses – Bioschok, Dead Rising, Mass Effect 2 (basically confirmed for the Ps3), and others. Capcom even stated from their own mouths that they aren’t doing anymore exclusive projects.
Not to mention the Braid developer said thet Microsoft limits developers on XBL and even said he would like to put the Braid on the Psn because Sony is more flexible. Another example of Microsoft limiting developers for XBL is Unreal Tournament III. Unreal Tournament does for the Xbox does not make you browse mods or anything unlike its counter parts for the PC and Ps3.
Yes, Xbox has its advantages also, but lately, Sony has gained MUCH momentum, and they argument cannot go unseen.

I own both consoles and I ended up buying COD4 for my PS3. I have also put in a decent amount of time on a borrowed 360 copy and I can honestly say that the difference between the two versions is negligible.
Over time developers have only become more accustomed to the PS3 architecture, so I am sure that MW2 will be equally good on both consoles.
Anyway, both consoles have their positives, but I do admit to preferring my PS3 for a few main reasons: it’s more reliable, quieter, has more full-featured media capabilities, and has better exclusives.
The 360’s lineup for 2009, for example, offers nothing that interests me. The PS3, on the other hand, has several exclusives lined up for 2009 that I KNOW I want.

It’s a shame that games are developed on consoles full stop. Yes if they developed them for the ps3 they may look nicer, but if they were developed for PC exclusively they’d look even better.
In summary, PC > ALL.
Argue as much as you want, the above is simply the truth. The PC outperforms both consoles technically and aesthetically – you can customise it’s features / appearance etc etc. Also, it has a wide array of tasks that can be performed on it, not just playing games.

I’m a 360 “fanboy” and I would agree games should be made on the PS3, because the graphics ARE superior, but I still prefer a 360 as to me graphics aren’t everything (Notice how all the PS3 fanboys loove to boast about how good their graphics are, but not how bad their selection of games is) I like gaming. I play games that I enjoy, and with my 360 I have a plethora to choose from. I’m considering getting a PS3 for 1 reason only. God of War 3. Good job on all the “excellent exclusives” you guys have got, that whole 1 really makes a difference in this pathetic little “war” of consoles. KZ2’s graphics are amazing. But that’s about it, the gameplay of KZ1 wasn’t great, and the gameplay of KZ2 will be the same. Which is what annoyed me about Gears 2 on 360. Nothing changed. -.-
Oh and your graphics are so great that all multi-platform games look better on the 360? (Because they get made on the 360 then dumbed down for the PS3, should be the other way round, then gaming as a whole can progress and we can focus on that, instead of which console is better)

If you actually have a half decent PC, you would know this. For FPS’s anyway, you can aim so much easier, the competition is harder (as everyones aim is better) and it’s more customizable. (Stupid amount of keys on a keyboard vs less than 20 buttons on a controller) The Mods and such that people make are excellent, which aside from UT3 cannot be accessed on consoles.

The ps3 sux balls i got the YLOD in november sony doesn’t know what they’re doing at all.
KZ2 was horrible and overhyped the best part of the game is when seb shoots vasari and he said just before he dies “the madness begins” but besides that the graphics are muddy and shit.
I’m a pc gamer wioth crossfired cards and even 007 QOS looks better that kz2.
Besides MW2 is being developed on pc so fuck all of you fanboy fags, and it will be far far superior to the nextgen console versions.
