Firmware v3.95 coming to PSP soon (update)

Update: The firmware is available to download now. It can be found via the Network Update option on your PSP, or can be downloaded to PC from this link, and then transferred over.

Sony have revealed that a firmware update will soon be available for the PSP. Going under the imposing name v3.95, the update will add new feature to PSone games as well as new Remote Play features. Nothing huge will be changed though; I guess they are holding onto that until the big 4.00!

Once updated to v3.95, PSone games on your PSP will be given the option to customize how the buttons are assigned. We are not sure if any game has ever annoyed us enough that we wished we could map controls to new buttons, but I guess it is nice to have the option. Furthermore, when you quit Remote Play on v3.95 you will now be given the option to turn off your PS3 or leave it on after quitting – which is a nice little extra to have available to I guess.

No official date was revealed, but the update will apparently be “available shortly
