Expert says GTA not to blame for youth gangs

Michael Chettleburg, a top Crime Expert in the US has commented that he believes there is nothing to link people being influenced to join a gang after playing GTA, or similar games. He comments the hip-hop and other kinds of media are not to blame either.
“[Violent media is] just not a primary driver of why kids join gangs,” he comments. “If you actually go out and talk to young gang members about the top 10 reasons why they joined a gang, you will never hear them talk about the influences of hip hop, video games or media.”
He was speaking after many other reports supposedly tied such media to future criminal behaviour, with some reporting they set a bad example for those gamers younger than 25.
