Nintendo expands Wi-Fi services

Nintendo have recently announced some interesting yet predictable improvements to their Wi-Fi service. Most notably is the ‘Pay and Play’ service, which will be appearing in some future DS and Wii titles. This would require the player to pay for the luxury of enjoying Wi-Fi games, in Wii Points.

Also, Nintendo announced that in the near future, there will be downloadable content options for new Wii games. No prices have yet been revealed.

All this basically means is, Nintendo have realised how shoddy their Wi-Fi services were compared to their rivals, and decided to step it up a notch. Many gamers don’t mind paying money for Wi-Fi for the better quality, so lets hope that they deliver.

So basically they've just copied the worst things about Xbox Live? Nice work, boys.

Pay? Lately I begrudge paying for 'Live-when-it-can-be-arsed' (dis)service.... Will they also do away with the annoying Friend Codes then? I never understood that idea.... If I'm paying, I wanna play against people other than on my list a la Live/PSN..
