EA scraps Bad Company DLC guns

EA has confirmed that plans to charge extra for some of the weapons in the retail release of Bad Company has been scraped. It was once thought that those who purchase the Gold Edition would receive the weapons as part of that pack, while others would have to spend money to buy the guns as downloadable content. However, it has now been confirmed that even though those who pick up the Gold Edition will get access to the weapons out of the box, others will gain access by ranking up their online character in the game instead of having to pay.

DICE have also commented about the bad reaction the decision caused. ” DICE is built upon the multiplayer community, and we do listen to what people say out there. When we saw this big uprise about people that really felt it was dissatisfying that some people bought the Gold Edition, those five weapons you couldn’t get or that you had to buy if you had the ordinary version of the game, that we just decided that all weapons will be free in the game, and that’s how it is now,” comments Karl Magnus, the senior producer on the game.

  1. Get in. I was pretty sickened when I saw those weapons in the unlock menu. I’m guessing that quote was meant to say something more like “Thanks for kicking up a fuss, so we could take your comments to the suits and tell them to fuck off.”

It’d server them right if people still boycotted the game as a matter of principle! I’ll still hold off buying it, if I even buy it at all!

The only clear way of getting a message across is by standing up together against the tyranny that has become EA!
