EA Extend LOTR License To 2008

EA have today announced that they have secured the rights to continue making games based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic literary fiction, The Lord of the Rings. the deals allows them to release titles through the course of 2007 and all the way to the end of through 2008. EA have also revealed they have now scheduled new LOTR release for 2008 which they boast will give gamers the most engaging experiences yet in the realm of Middle-earth.

“The Lord of the Rings is an incredible canvas to create epic games,” said Frank Gibeau, EA’s executive vice president and general manager of North American publishing. “We look forward to our next project with New Line Cinema and Tolkien Enterprises scheduled to ship in 2008.”
