EA Announce Facebreaker – A New Boxing Game

Taking quite a big step back from the realism of Fight Night, EA has jumped onto the stylised cartoony bandwagon and announced that their newest boxing game – the beautifully-titled Facebreaker – is in development. The news comes from 1up, where the site went on to reveal that even though the game looks cartoony, it will have highly in-depth physics that will allow “real-time facial deformation” – hence the game’s name!

No real boxers will be used in the game, and instead a fictional and surreal line-up of pugilists will be on show instead. If that’s not good enough for you, then you’ll be glad to hear the game will also make use of EA’s Game Face technology to let you build creations of your very own.

EA’s Peter Moore commented: “Arcade boxing takes me back to my roots in this industry, and this game signals our shift to adding more approachable fun to our product lineup.

The game is due out on PS3, 360 and Wii sometime in the future, although no solid date has been revealed as of yet.
