DivX made available to PS3 developers
It has been revealed that DivX video encoding will be made available to PS3 developers. As a result they will be able to take full advantage of DivX compression technology to produce quality in-game quality video on the PS3, which was the first gaming system officially capable of playing back DivX videos.
“We are excited to work with Sony Computer Entertainment to offer DivX video encoding to PS3 game developers,” said Kevin Hell, CEO of DivX, Inc. “PS3 users can already use their PS3s to watch their own DivX videos, and now they’ll also be able to enjoy the quality of DivX in the games.“
