Massive Entertainment has spoken out [in Swedish] to say they are not happy with how the console version of World in Conflict, which was being ported by Swordfish Studios, was turning out, and it is now scrapped. The game was set to appear on both 360 and PS3 later this Spring, with Ubisoft doing the publishing as Activision dropped the ball after the Vivendi merger, but all of that has now been kicked to the wayside.
The main reason behind the cancellation was the quality of the game, with Massive founder and CEO Martin Walfisz saying he was not at all satisfied with the quality of the console version of the product.
However, Massive have said they are still interested in brining games to consoles, but they say they need to really think hard to give gamers a good experience .
Swordfish are now soley working on 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, which will be published by THQ.
