If you have been interested in downloading the upcoming Call of Duty 4 maps you may have noticed there is a bit of confusion regarding the date they will be available. Some sites are saying next week, others are saying this week, and many forums and comments sections are getting really annoyed by the indecision.
However, a news post over on Infinity Ward official blog seems to have cleared up all of this speculation, and has confirmed that the maps are “NOT delayed.” The message then goes on to say that “as of right now we’re pushing certification for an on-time release for April 3rd or 4th. As of right now though, I’m being told that it’s a good chance it will be released worldwide (except for Japan) tomorrow night / early-Friday morning.”
Activision boast the Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. “Creek” is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. Then in “Broadcast” you can fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. “Chinatown” is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. “Killhouse” features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

Any news on fixing the lag that’s made this game almost unplayable at times? If not, then I’m not interested in the new maps. No point in having shiny new environments if you can’t play in them properly…..

It was announced the other day that there will be no new content on the PSN store until the middle of the month when they have the new format – does that means PS3 owners have to wait until then for the new maps? Boo if it does!! PS I don’t know what system or setup you have monkey rimmer, but I play this game almost every day and have seen lag maybe once in four months, it’s millisecond perfect for me. Bring them on.
