Cloverfield game rumoured
The latest edition of the UK version of the Official PlayStation Magazine has remarked that a Cloverfield game could be possible sometime in the future. The comment about the game was found in the rumour section of the magazine, although it should be noted more than a few of the rumours listed there in past issues have later on proven to be fact.
The possibility of a game based on the movie is an interesting one in our opinion, although it would probably need a top-end developer to get the best out of it due to the films unique premise. We can’t see the game having much combat in it either, so the amount of genres the game could be set in very slim.
Maybe a point and click would be the best way to go, or at least keep it adventure based. Something like Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) might be nice too. A kart racer would be welcome as well!

Sounds a bit iffy but could work, maybe something along the lines of Disaster Report where you have to continuously be on the move, or maybe you could get to play from the monster’s POV and kick the hell out of everything

I didn’t see this film, but am I right in thinking it’s basically Godzilla without Godzilla and some generic lizard type beastie in it’s place?

Pretty much. Its shot in a really interesting way though, all handheld camera from one of the characters, much like Blair Witch. When mixed with Godzilla its a pretty good film. I can’t really see a decent game coming out of it though.

Its not a bad disaster/monster movie. Some parts are quite effective and it is certainly a lot better than rubbish like Godzilla (the US version that is)

I think this could be interesting, whether it would be good is another thing. I think a survival game based on the story line, with a kind of Shenmu press this button now and run here system would be fun. But a game with no combat in todays market it would have to be high budget to get anywhere.

Could be very intresting. But also very shiat. Mabye somthing like Mirrors Edge with the first person view but looking like actual eyes of that person.
I read a rumor about a second cloverfield, same scenario, but from someone elses perspective. There is supposed to be someone with another camera running across the bridge filming it as well.
Or it could be shown from how it started because at the end of the movie, you see somthing come down from the sky and hit the water. So how it all started or somthin, no idea lol
