Chinatown Wars leaked online, but currently unplayable
As with pretty much all DS games ever, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is now available online to download and put on your fancy-schmancy card thing and illegally play. The leak comes a few days ahead of the game’s official Euro release on March 20th.
However, the folks at Rockstar have threw a spanner in the works, which makes the game impossible to play on the fancy-schmancy cards in its current form.
Their form of protection is different to all other titles in recent months, as the game flatout does not load at all on the flashcard you put it on.
It’s likely some bypass will be available in coming days, as that is another sure thing on the DS pirating scene, although it should be intresting to see how long Rockstar’s piracy protection stumps the pirates.

Play.com list all big upcoming DS games for £17.99 for a while. They did it with Chrono Trigger…

Kudos to Rockstar for this. I’m pretty sure they had a hand in the leak somewhere along the line, knowing that it wouldn’t work for the majority of Flash carts.
It’s funny to see people across the internet complaining about how their illegal devices won’t let them play this illegally acquired game.

Well it isn’t an anti-piracy things, it’s merely the save is too large for the flash carts. A simple firmware update should fix it.

I already have the game dudes…..but you guys were right, the game didn’t work, but it got fixed thanks to Team Cyclops with their new update on the CycloDS Evolution which came around the enxt day lol….the game works perfectly and it even saves nice enough….I don’t know what the big deal is to download roms, I mean if you guys download music and videos free off the net….wouldn’t that be the same thing as downloading roms? you’re doing piracy as well why hide it? besides nobody freaking cares anyway it’s not like police are gonna knock on your door just because you downloaded a couple of games, they have bigger fish to fry like murder, extortion, drugs and etc. and etc. …it is all the same bullcrap, if you guys really want to see piracy totally out of control, take a trip to colombia, it’s practically legal over there, everything they sell is pirated lol….I’m totally serious…. as for me, I say may it live forever, I think 40 dollars for a DS game is really an overpriced BS….I would have bought it if it wasn’t so god damn expensive, piracy will live forever if people want things for free, like me…..companies try so hard and fail everytime it is really entertaining, and plus with todays economy, no one even has money to buy the games anyway because people are trying to save money lol

But if everyone was pirating games like you seem to think they should be, then no-one would purchase the games, hardworking game developers arent rewarded, and Rockstar think twice about ever making another game for the DS.
If less people pirated games, publishers would sell more copies, then they could afford to drop the prices.

I don’t know why you think that piracy is something to be proud of but it isn’t. Your helping to kill the entertainment industries. Video game piracy if incoraged would be even worse, due to the high cost of a game.
You’ve never been to Columbia, I bet you’ve never even seen a documentary on the place, stop thinking just because other people do it that its ok. Stop thinking everybody does it and stop listing other worse crimes in an attempt to justify yourself.
Oh yea, and people get arrested and tried for piracy all the time. Especially those who steal games, since its a smaller more traceable crime. These people pretty much always get prosicuted too, because their undoubtably guilty.
Oh btw, most of these piracy sites track you and what you download, your on a datebase (if their not using spyware on you too)

My mates on China War’s now, seems people think this is heads ahead of GTA4.
It definatly seems like one of the most complete looking DS games yet. The art style is pretty cool too but I always did love cel shading (and this is similar)

I bought the dsi paid for all games and downloads, now have the dsi xl, Can NOT transfer games over like the psp so unless i carry both systems around i have to purchase the games over again or return the dsi xl. I am returning the xl and hope others do as well. The alternative would be download hacked pirated games knowing they will work on either system. Others could justify downloading illegal copies just the same becaue nintendo’s greed backfireing on them.
