Capcom announce Dead Rising 2, but Frank is gone

After much rumouring over the past few days, Capcom have confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is on they way. The game will be helmed by Canadian developer Blue Castle Games.

That developer is not all that well-known, as they only developed one game since their inception – a baseball game called The Bigs. It did get good reviews though, so it seems there is some talent there.

Capcom also remark that numerous members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle throughout the development process to make sure everything goes to plan.

Dead Rising 2 will be taking the Zombies out of the shopping centre, and moving to a setting called Fortune City. In Fortune all new in-game objects that can be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault will be available. The protagonist doing so will however not be Frank West, as judging by the screenshots he will no longer be the lead character like he was in the original.

The game will be available on PS3, 360 and PC upon release, but no date is available as of yet.
