Dr. Tanya Byron has criticised some of the press reaction to The Byron Report, and their reaction to video games in general. She also continued to talk yet more sense that will hopefully permeate into the archaic, out-dated brains of the mainstream press.
She labelled an article written in The Times on the day the report was published as “completely inaccurate“, and that she was suprised the way it chose to detail her report. She also went on to describe Anne Diamond’s effort at reviewing games as “unbelievable”
Some of the press “has the mindset ‘all games bad’ or ‘games industry equals bad,” she comments.
“I’m very clear that the games industry makes adult games for adults; it doesn’t make adult games for children. Some people still don’t understand that the word ‘game’ doesn’t necessarily mean anything is right for kids,” she continued.
