Bungie reveal teaser trailer, possible Halo 3 campaign expansion

A countdown on Bungie’s official website finished today, revealing a minute-long trailer named ‘Keep It Clean’. The video depicts a futuristic-looking city apparently being bombarded by space pods, with the tagline ‘Prepare to Drop’. The video finishes with the Halo 3 logo, leaving no doubt that it’s not a new game being announced here.

“We hope you haven’t dedicated too much time and stress to this 12-hour long countdown event,” says Bungie of the trailer. “We’re excited to finally share this with you.”

The video can be viewed on Bungie.net and on YouTube and by the time you read this it should be available to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The video’s description is “High action and deep mystery await players in this new Halo 3 campaign experience.”

Some eagle-eyed Halo fan reckons he’s spotted a hidden date within the teaser trailer that points to the expansion being released on 6th January 2009. See the below picture for evidence.

  1. Probably is going to be extra story though because at the end of H3 you see master chief floating towards a random planet and there is a pod in the trailer crashing down.

    Better be free though.

  2. I can’t wait for this, this site has a lot of hot girls who play halo wow check it out gamernook.com

  3. The game has been announced it’s actually Viva Piñata 3

  4. Good god, not more of that terrible campaign.

Didn’t they already end halo 3 on an utterly confusing, uninspiring note after a tremendiously shitty last few hours.

Anybody remember the flood cave level? anybody enjoy it?

And why do people give two shits about Master Cheif? he has no personality, if he was a mute he would at least have that going for him, but no, he says several pointless unrememberable lines in several exploitive cut scenes that turns the game into a walking B movie.

HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE RECIEIVE SUCH PRAISE?

Steve you are a dumbass, i bet you like final fantasy and the playstation 3, if you think halo 3 is so bad you better check yourself because it is one of the top played games on live and top bought games only being on one console, there are millions of halo fans that love the story, millions vs. your dumb ass, i think that has a self explanatory answer of how awesome the game is, go choke on a chode you one minded fagget.

  6. This is my other account.

The first thing wrong with the campaign is that Bungie seem to have pulled nothing intresting out of the bag at all. I mean level 1 was if I recall a seedy opening where Master Chief was supposed to have died, of course he didn’t, therefore bungie spending 5 minutes of cut scenes bigging up the death of master chief was completely idiotic. Ontop of that you had the nameless marines, and the black sgt, the stereotyped characters were laughable.

Next you see the graphics, which immediatly sets the tone sour as the game has clearly been rushed to release. Some textures are just unforgivable. The first 2 levels have no intresting combat what so ever… but loads of embarrasingly scripted events.

Level 3 the glitches really started to show, for one we (me and seth) shot some rats and they just began rolling, and rolling… sideways… wtf. Of all the weird glitches i’ve ever seen, dead rats rolling sideways is a pretty piss poor mistake.

The level design throughout the entire game was poor and uninspired, Halo 2 and 1 got away with it simply because a lot of levels were set in futuristic tombs, therefore dull design could be discuised. But Halo 3 is just ridiculously dull, loads of corridors, loads of open and empty land scapes. Void a rock or so. The desert level was a particular bad joke they clearly just pasted sand over anything they couldn’t be bothered to texture.

And then the plot got thicker, or just considerably more confusing, jumping all over the place in such a way any sane person would lose intrest. Then the SPOILERS

black guy dies, and the flood change side twice. From there MC seems to just go places for the sake of it, including the level IGN claimed was the ‘worst in fps history’ yet still dished out a 9.8…

That flood level, what was up with that, did bungie playtests not come back with people saying how incredibly dull and annoying it was? Previous halo’s had liberies to add to tedium. But this was truely the worst halo level yet, or a high set bar.

The final level… what was that? a joke? lets rip off halo1 but use a set of crappy incredibly obviously scripted falling scenary. And what looked like lego for an exploding structure.

Then the ending, or lack of any form of closure. Showed they were too scared to kill off anyone bar the black guy (stereotypes again) bungie clearly didn’t think about the plot enough, and books are hanging on this making sense to make money.

Now pardon me if I like human relationships in my games rather than dumbed down stereotypes. But the aftermath of Halo was pretty much the aftermath of watching some dumb holywood movie. I don’t know how people can get into this story, among other things its full of inconsistancies and plot holes.

Now if your going to say everyone who liked halo vs my opinion arguement your validating the thousands of complete scum that you propably would admit are complete idiots on the internet. Sure people like Halo… people vote too, doesn’t mean they have any sense whatsoever.

And I don’t understand the loyalty to bungie? they seem to alienate the community every time they get a chance, ever playlist change usually having some idiotic reason behind it… lets reduce Big team battle from 18 players to 12…. aka Team slayer + 2. Nobody likes pressing a button to talk, its not a neccasary evil and bungies response to the situation was saying that they simply know best…

Yatzee had it right imo… Halo is a complete average shooter whos only big difference to the others on the market is how ego centric the experience is.

  7. also note how after this game got rave reviews and became one of the highest rated games of all time. It got scaresly any GOTY awards, its almost as if magazines didn’t like halo3 but were forced to give it a rave score…
