Brutal Legend demo coming mid-September

brutallegenddemo_news

At the GamesCom in Germany, EA, Double Fine Productions, and Tim Schafer shouting from atop of a hill have announced that a Brutal Legend demo will be releasing  on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17th. The game itself is still set for release on October 13th in North America and a few days later, on October 16th, in Europe.

Brutal Legend got a whole load of publicity when it was dropped by the evilness that is Activision after their merger with Vivendi Games. After evil Activision, who stroked a white cat and laughed mockingly, said they did not want the game as part of their portfolio, it was heroic Electronic Arts, in tight spandex, that picked it up.

Brütal Legend is a third person action/adventure game that uses an open world sandbox layout – that is pretty generic in today’s market to be honest. However, Tim Schafer is involved, as is rock, metal, pyrotechnics and other crazy stuff, so you should be interested!

Tim Schafer’s previous game are The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Psychonauts. That means you should be bowing in his general direction right now.
