BBFC rate and detail Alone in the Dark

The BBFC have got their rating hat on again, and have used their wisdom to decide the upcoming Alone in the Dark for both PS3 and 360 warrants being tagged with a 15 rating.

“The game has been rated at ‘15′ for strong language and violence,” comments the board. “The BBFC’s guidelines state that There may be frequent use of strong language (eg fuck) at ‘15.’ The game contains multiple uses of fuck.”

They continue and remark that the game “does not dwell on the infliction of pain and injury” and explain that the “violence in the game is all mitigated by the fantasy context in which the adventure is set and the game does not dwell on its infliction in an overt fashion.”

Finally, they comment on some gameplay elements by revealing that “The player is faced by zombies and other supernatural, horrific creatures, and fights them off with guns, posts, spades, flamethrowers and other items that can be turned into weapons.“
