ASDA drops price of 80GB PS3 bundle to £250

The favourite supermarket for the poor (i.e. everyone nowadays) ASDA has seemingly jumped the gun a bit on a potential PS3 price drop. According to Gamesindustry.biz, the retail giant has dropped the price of its 80GB PS3 bundle to £250 with immediate effect.

The bundle comes with the 80GB Playstation 3 console, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines on Blu-Ray, Terminator Salvation the game, and a choice of either Ghostbusters: The Game or InFamous. An ASDA spokesperson said that this offer will continue until they run out of stock, as they believe that Sony will be discontinuing this model.

The offer doesn’t appear to be available on ASDA’s website, so you’ll have to take a trip to your local store if you want to take advantage of this excellent deal. Several other retailers across Europe have also dropped the price of the console over the past week.

Of course, this move just adds fuel to the fire that Sony will be officially announcing a price drop and possibly a new model of the PS3 at their press conference in Cologne later today.
