April Fool 2008 #5 – Blizzard does two more!

Along with the fantastic Bard Hero, Blizzard has put together two more April Fool’s jokes to amuse. One is based on the always rumoured, but never announced WoW for consoles, while the other is focused on a new race Starcraft.

The Molten Core which was ‘announced’ for console is probably the funnier of the two as it pokes fun at the limitations of console. Revealing that you will be able to “move in eight unique direction” as you play the game in 2D. The page Blizzard has put up also shows the concept art of the supposed game, and then the screenshot of what it will look like. There is even a trailer available which hammers home not only how cruel but how very clever Blizzard are.

The other update sees them announcing the Tauren Marine for Starcraft, offering a crazy back story for the character, making some terrible puns, and showing him in action in both screenshots and in a video. A massive amount of work must have gone into this one!
