Bungie Announce Halo 3′s 4 Player Co-op Details

Bungie have announced that come September 26th all of those that want to play through Halo 3′s single player campaign with a few buddies in tow, will in fact be able to do so with up to four different players online playing co-operatively over Xbox Live. This glorious news report comes after months – many, many months – of rumours. It has also been made known that many parts of the game have been built around the idea, for example, warthogs been able to seat four people.

Of course, now that the news is out, the floodgates have opened and the company have decided to reveal full details on the mode. Interestingly, the four players available will not be just clones of Master Chief and will instead each have their own names! Yes, the full list of players goes by the names Master Chief, the Arbiter, N’tho ‘Sraom and Usze ‘Taham – the last two are brand new elites who will apparently get have their own back stories in the game. Also, weapon starts will be different depending on whether the player is Master Chief or an Elite but all characters will posses the same abilities. However, single console split-screen play remains confined to just two player co-op, but a nice touch is that those two can still join another group via system link, or online should they feel the need.

Finally, Bungie have revealed that when playing through a mission the whole thing will be recorded, thus letting you play it back and relive the great moments, from multiple viewpoints, using the saved films feature.
