Alan Wake gameplay footage leaked, has FPS elements

YouTube Preview Image

The first in-game footage of Alan Wake has being leaked to the web, and it shows that the game has some FPS. The video shows Alan walking around a snowy woods, inspecting a log cabin, and comes to an end just as he finds, and picks up a shotgun. It looks very Bioshock if you ask us – although will probably turn out to be more adventure-centric and open-ended in nature.

According to the guy doing the leaking, he will be posting third-person stuff later on, which pretty much confirms the game will be a mix of both styles of play. We hope that won’t be too jarring.

The footage has not being confirmed to be real as of yet, but if someone faked it, they sure put a hell of a lot of effort in. More info will probably be made available at GDC 09, if the video is to be believed.

  1. Hmmmm. I’m really anticipating this title but it’s a common rule to never mix perspective genres. One always comes off as being worse than the other.

Still, there’s absolutely no evidence that’s Alan Wake.

  2. Apparently the footage is fake, or at least of an old cancelled PS3 game called “Redwood Falls” from some UK developer called Kuju.

  3. Yeah you can tell this is fake because someone is obviously playing the game, you don’t do that in alan wake.
