74 pupils suspended for downloading game (Update)
BBC reports that dozens of pupils at Tollbar Business and Enterprise College at Waltham in North East Lincolnshire have being suspended after downloading an unnamed game from an internet site. They comment that the final number of students affected came in 74.
The school remarked that the downloading of the game was a breach of IT policy and suspension was the only course of action to take for such an offence. However, it was not revealed how long with suspension will last.
The Principal David Hampson commented that the 1,000 computers at the college were for educational use only. “Computers here are used for learning … not for playing games,” he proclaimed.
Update: We did a bit of checking ourselves, and have found out that David Hampson, the Principal you read about above also has a news item about him, and it’s back from all the way in 2002 in The Sun. He apparently left staff hard at work while he holidayed in the Caribbean during a mid-term.
That’s just terrible Mr. Hampson, you should be ashamed!

Why download a game at college? what is the point, it would takes ages to download, a while to install and you would hardly get time to to play it.

^^^Most colleges have very fast internet connections, and considering its a business college, I’d say they have a lot of time on the computers so would get a lot of time to play. And depending on the game, it may not have taken much time to install.
