360 GTA IV not region free
We know that some people are planning to import GTA IV due to the game being edited in some parts of the world. However, if you are one of those people planning on doing so we’d advise you not to import the PAL version 360 release of the game as it as been confirmed it is not region free. So, if you happen to have it pre-ordered somewhere we advise run and cancel that right now.
Please note the US version of the game could be different, as a few games released in the US have been region free while the Euro one was locked. However, no details on that version are known as of yet.

So it seems like this site is the sole source of this latest GTA news. Do you think you could offer some more insight into the news guys? Like, oh I dunno, maybe tell us WHY you think it’s confirmed, WHO confirmed it and WHO tested it to make sure?

The source of the news is the recently leaked version of the game that can be played on a modded 360 console. We can’t put up source on this occasion at it would be linking to piracy which would be bad

It means the Euro version cannot be played in on a 360 bought in the US or Japan. Some 360 games allow this, and some don’t.

I have a question?My parents are in the US and they bought me the GTA 4 ntsc US..they are still shipping it….My xbox360 was bought here in the philippines and made in china….Will the disc play?

niel – Philippines is region 3 and I don’t know if it usually has compatibility with US versions. I would suspect not.
However, on a comment elsewhere someone said:
“I have been playing either the American or European version on my Korean Region 3 console for the past few days. Unless it was all just a dream..”
But don’t let that get your hopes up. If I were you give it a try, and report back!
