GAME and Gamestation websites now offline

Both Gamestation.co.uk and Game.co.uk have been taken offline in the last few minutes. This comes after news of the company entering administration earlier this morning.

Both sites are currently displaying a holding page, with a message telling customers with standing orders what they should do – this gist of it is to not freak out.

“MJA Jervis and SD Maddison have been appointed as Joint Administrators of The GAME Group plc, Game Stores Group Limited, Gameplay (GB) Limited, Game (Stores) Limited, Games Station Limited, Game (Retail) Limited and Gamestation Limited on 26 March 2012, to manage their affairs, business and property as their agents and without personal liability,” reads the statement

We are currently reviewing and processing orders placed on this website.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to be back up and running very soon,” it concludes.

It is currently unknown how “soon” that will be, who will be in charge if it does, or if it is just wishful thinking.

The company also directs those concerned to their Facebook and Twitter pages should they have some customer services requests.

There are also various reports, from multiple sources, of stores across the UK getting word they will have to close. There are 600+ stores in the UK, but it is currently believed some of those will be saved.
