Demo footage – PC version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition arriving for PC (on Steam) in three weeks time, I wanted to see the differences between the console version and this Ultimate Edition port.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition includes the original game and the two additional DLCs, Reverie and Resurrection, and is currently available for a decent price of £17.99 on Steam.

One of the more exciting aspects is that this PC release runs at a silky smooth 60fps. While the YouTube video below will only show it at 30fps, I must state that seeing this running at constant 60fps and not dropping frame rate is a much better experience than what I had to go through in the Xbox 360 version. The console games suffered awful drops from time to time. My only problem with the PC demo was that the animation is easily noticeable and appears more robotic, most likely due to the console focus of 30fps back in its development days. A good plus is that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition looks incredibly sharp at 1080p.

The demo was identical to the console demo, meaning it doesn’t include the best parts of the game, but if does give you an idea on how it looks.

Enjoy.
