Campo Santo detail Firewatch’s launch plans – and price the game too

Firewatch’s launch plans are now set in stone. The game will launch on Windows, Mac, Linux and PS4 on February 9th. If you are willing to get aboard the pre purchase malarkey train you can save a whole 10% off the regular price on Steam right now. That means €17.99/£17.99/£13.49 instead of $19.99/$19.99/£14.99. It does not seem like a similar deal is available to PS4 owners. Sony never seem too keen to do launch discounts on any games coming to their platform. Boo. There is a exclusive PS4 theme though….. wow.

Why not watch this new trailer for Firewatch now?

What is Firewatch? Firewatch is a lot of things. It is the new game by Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman. Those are the people that played a key role in making Season 1 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead so good. Alongside them is Nels Anderson (who worked on Mark of the Ninja), Olly Moss (a man known for creating truly fantastic looking art), and Jane Ng  (who was part of the team to produce some of Double Fine’s more memorable titles over the past 5 years). Together, under the guise of Campo Santo, they have been working on the game for well over two years.

Gameplay revolves around a man called Henry, and his boss; a woman called Delilah. As you play the game – and walk around the wilderness setting you find yourself in – you find out more about the world, and more importantly you learn more about yourself. The game seem set to offer players some highly engaging narrative of an mature nature to get lost in.

We might publish a review for Firewatch on or around launch if you lot behave yourselves and stop getting into trouble on the internet all the time. Deal? In the meantime why not take a look at the game’s revamped official site. It’s a mellow shade of yellow now.
