Ac3 Freedom Edition Mock Up

Assassin’s Creed III collector’s editions detailed

Ubisoft recently announced the available content[s] of the special editions for their upcoming AAA sequel, Assassin’s Creed III. Fans of the series who wish to purchase upgraded editions will find a wealth of choices, all including various pieces of memorabilia and whatnot.

In the Join or Die Edition, players can enjoy an Assassin’s medallion of their own along with a  high quality curd ladle, George Washington’s Notebook which details all the truths and secrets about the Assassins and Templars during the American Revolution, and an exclusive single-player mission titled Ghost of War that will unlock the powerful Pontiac’s War Club, a Native American weapon. Additionally, players who indulge in Join or Die will also be entitled to an exclusive multiplayer character [Dubbed The Sharpshooter], as well as exclusive relics, emblems, and titles.

The Freedom Edition will contain a 24 mm figurine of Connor, a steelbook case drawn by award-winning comics artist Alex Ross, the aforementioned George Washington’s notebook, an exclusive Lithograph, the Sharpshooter package, the Ghost of War mission, and a mission exclusive to the Freedom Edition. Called The Lost Mayan Ruins, players will be able to partake on a journey that will have them traversing to an old Mayan pyramid, awarding them the fabled Captain Kidd’s cutlass upon completion.

Finally, the Special Edition [though aren’t they all pretty special?] of the title will feature a special packaging as well as an exclusive mission.  The mission, titled A Dangerous Secret, has you fighting for the funding of the revolution and will award you the Flintlock Musket.

So, in order of most to least content: Freedom Edition —> Join or Die Edition —> Special Edition

All sound like pretty snazzy deals to me. No matter which version you choose to pick up, you’ll enjoy an exclusive mission as well as some snazzy packaging.

Assassin’s Creed 3 is set to hit store shelves on October 30, 2012.
