Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp now available for download in Europe

Nintendo’s latest foray into mobile gaming has been released, and it takes the form of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp — a cutesy, casual game in which players are tasked with building and managing their own campsite.

Pocket Camp was announced for iOS and Android devices at the tail-end of last month in a special Nintendo Direct, which showcased the various activities players could take part in, such as fishing, shopping and interior decorating. Kitting your campsite out in a certain style will appeal to specific visitors, but you’ll have to build their favourite furniture in order to make them visit. Very needy.

The game is a free-to-play, but of course features those ever-criticised microtransactions. Progression is limited by waiting times for construction, which only get longer the further you go in an attempt to encourage players to buy more Leaf Tickets or coins. However, visiting friends can help speed up the process.

While expected to launch tomorrow, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is available now to download on the Play Store and App Store.
