My very first video game was Manic Miner on the ZX spectrum, back when games featured far more prominent palettes than the greys and browns of the current generation. Interesting facts: I speak fluent Japanese, and have never finished Final Fantasy 7. Sorry.

I’ve played games for most of my life, and probably missed the point of them for even longer. I love games that give you something you never knew you wanted, be it Shadow of the Colossus’s solitary adventuring, or Left 4 Dead’s ability to induce blind panic, I didn’t know I wanted to feel that way, and now I resent all other developers for not giving it to me sooner. And I will take my revenge on them with spelling mistakes, and flawed conclusions.
