All Play-Asia PS3 Pre-Orders Cancelled
Last week many gamers that rely on import websites to get their hands on region exclusive titles were shocked by the closer of Lik-Sang. This week more shock comes for importers, albeit not on the same level as last week as fellow online retailer Play-Asia.com announced that all customers reserving an import PlayStation 3 will have their pre-orders cancelled.
In an email sent out to consumers yesterday, Play-Asia cited “licensing and distribution limitations” as the reason for the cancellations. “As a result, we are very sorry to let you know that we have now cancelled your non-binding reservation with us.” A quick look at the website now sees all PS3 units, games and accessories status changed to “preorders closed” to hammer some the point stated in the email.
This ruckus has obviously being once again caused by Sony as they recently warned that they would “utilise the full scope of the law” to prevent retailers from importing any of its consoles.
