Ubisoft to take on Rock Band and Guitar Hero?

Some people will argue the world has enough rhythm games to last a lifetime, with new music games seemingly coming out every month, and news of the games and songs within appearing on sites day in and day out. However, it seems Ubisoft think we may need some more rhythm in our lives.

The news comes from a new job listing on Gamasutra, with Ubisoft asking for a Lead Designer to join their San Francisco studio to “help guide the creation of an exciting new cross-platform music based game.”

It seems the publisher is very serious about getting things right too, as they stress candidates for the job will have to “have a strong background in, and a love of, music and music based games.”

Although any reveal is ages away, it should be interesting to see what they come up with. Hopefully it will not be just a another title in the same vein as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, as it would be a breath of fresh air if they could try something different to truly shake things up.
