19. Football Manager 2009 (Sports Interactive)
20. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest (Pandemic Studios)
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin provides an example of the Wii’s dominance, as this new entry can’t manage to topple Wii Fit, despite being the highest-selling game this week on both PS3 and Xbox 360, and the second-highest selling PC game after Football Manager 2009.
F.E.A.R. 2 becomes the fastest-selling game in the series, with 50% of sales on 360, 31% on PS3, and 19% on PC. Call of Duty: World at War slips one place to No.4 despite a 6% increase in sales, but it moves ahead of FIFA 09 which drops three places to No.5.
Nintendo is still dominating the Top 10, with five of those games being exclusive to Nintendo platforms. Mystery Case Files: Millionheir seems to be stealing some of Professor Layton’s thunder, with the former title boosting in sales by 25% and moving up a place to No.3. In contrast, Prof. Layton drops in sales by 24% and falls two places from No.5 to No.7.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games manages to stay at No.8, the same position as last week, growing sales by 22%. With a Winter Games sequel recently announced, will this Olympics game still be in the Top 10 by the time the next game is released?
Outside of the Top 10, there are two other new entries this week, with Ben 10: Alien Force at No.11, and The House of the Dead: Overkill at No.13.
DarkZero favourite, Left 4 Dead, continues to improve in sales thanks to much positive word-of-mouth. In the All-Formats chart it moves up four places this week to enter the Top 10 at No.9. In fact, it was the second-best selling game on Xbox 360 last week, beaten only by new entry F.E.A.R. 2.
